Greg Cohen recognizes that even those immersed in the boxing world aren’t all that familiar with Bogdan Dinu.

The Romanian heavyweight hasn’t lost as a professional, but built his perfect record versus a very low level of opposition. According to Cohen, once Dinu provides Jarrell Miller with the toughest test of the unbeaten Brooklyn native’s pro career, Dinu will be viewed as the top-10 heavyweight Cohen considers him.

The 30-year-old Miller (22-0-1, 19 KOs) and the 32-year-old Dinu (18-0, 14 KOs) will headline a DAZN stream Saturday night from Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas.

“[Dinu] was a blue-chip amateur, a seven-time national champion, won tournaments all over Europe,” said Cohen, whose company promotes Dinu and co-promotes Miller. “He was on the Olympic team. He’s a world-class heavyweight. This is, I believe, for both guys by far their toughest fight. And it’s very contrasting styles. Jarrell is a bigger puncher, he’s stronger. Bogdan is a real good boxer, and he can punch, too. It’s gonna be a very interesting fight.”

Dinu didn’t hesitate to accept Cohen’s offer when this difficult fight was presented to him on less than one month’s notice.

Miller thought he’d face Fres Oquendo in a fight for the WBA world heavyweight title Saturday night. Oquendo turned down promoter Eddie Hearn’s $500,000 offer for that bout.

Dinu and Miller hoped they’d fight for that title, but the WBA hasn’t stripped Manuel Charr of one of its three heavyweight championships. The WBA was expected to take that title from Charr once his fight against Oquendo was canceled in September because Charr tested positive for two anabolic steroids (https://www.boxingscene.com/wba-strip-charr-miller-dinu-unlikely-title-fight--133710).

Even though they won’t fight for a title, Cohen expects a career-changing performance from Dinu against Miller on Saturday night. The 6-feet-5, 240-pound Dinu hasn’t beaten a ranked heavyweight since he turned pro 10 years ago, but he estimated he sparred approximately 100 rounds against Anthony Joshua while helping the unbeaten British superstar prepare for his unforgettable battle with Wladimir Klitschko and his canceled clash against Kubrat Pulev.

“He’s a bona fide top-10 guy in the world,” Cohen said. “People that don’t know him are gonna see that on November 17th. He can hang with anyone in the world. He can beat anyone in the world. He didn’t hesitate for one second. When he got the offer, he almost jumped through the phone to grab it. And that’s what you wanna see.”
