Highly favored Polish super middleweight Grzegorz Proksa (26-1, 19 KOs) lost his European title on Saturday night, when he dropped a shocking twelve round majority decision to heavy underdog Kerry Hope (17-3, 1 KO) at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield. The scores were 114:114, 115:112 and 114:113.

Early in the fight, Proksa suffered a bad cut above his left eye and the Polish boxer says the heavy flow of blood affected his vision throughout the contest. He requested a rematch, and says Hope agreed. Proksa's cut will require a proper amount of time before the fighter can start training in the gym.

"From the moment [I got cut], I could not see and started boxing instinctively, but I do not want to look for any excuses. I have already asked for a rematch with Hope and he agreed. I am convinced that in the rematch I will win," Proksa said.
