According to the team of Khabib Allakhverdiev (18-0, 8KOs), the IBO/WBA "regular" junior welterweight champion has suffered an elbow injury and withdrew from his HBO televised fight with Colombian boxer Breidis Prescott (26-4, 20KOs). The match was scheduled for the Brandon Rios-Mike Alvarado card on March 30th at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

There are ongoing discussions for undefeated contender Terence Crawford (19-0, 15KOs) to replace Khabib, but an agreement has not been reached. Crawford is already scheduled to fight on the same card against Robert Osiobe. Khabib recently signed with Top Rank and was eager to make his HBO televised debut.
