All fighters successfully made weight for the 2012 season finale of Lou DiBella’s Broadway Boxing series, which takes place Wednesday night at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City.

The December 19 show doubles as a special event to benefit those still suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, which ravaged must of the Northeast this past fall. The night’s proceeds will be donated in full to the American Red Cross, with additional funds to be raised by a silent auction. Promoter Lou DiBella is personally donating several items from his own collection for the auction.

As for the boxing portion of the evening, the show is headlined by a light heavyweight clash between local favorite Will Rosinsky and former boxing reality star Otis Griffin. Both fighters weighed in at 174 lb for their scheduled 10-round main event.

Rosinsky (16-2, 9KO) fights for the first time since his HBO-televised points loss to former middleweight king Kelly Pavlik this past July. The Queens (NY) native – an EMT for the FDNY – last appeared in this very venue in July, scoring an eight-round decision over Aaron Pryor, Jr.

The 35-year old Griffin (24-10-2, 10KO) is in search of his second straight win after having previously lost four in a row. The Sacramento-based fringe contender turned pro eight years ago as a member of Oscar de la Hoya’s ‘The Next Great Champ’ boxing reality series on Fox-TV. Griffin won the tournament, but has largely served as a steppingstone for most of his career.

In the co-feature, house favorite Gabriel ‘King’ Bracero (20-1, 3KO) fights for the fourth straight time at the venue as he takes on veteran Johnnie Edwards (15-5-1, 8KO). Bracero weighed 141 lb, while Edwards tipped the scales at 142 lb. for their scheduled eight-round super lightweight contest.

Former title challenger Ionut ‘Jo Jo Dan’ of Canada fights under the DiBella Entertainment banner for the first time since signing with the New York-based company earlier this year. The undercard bout marks his first fight since dropping a decision to Selcuk Aydin in their Nov. ’11 rematch.

Ion (29-2, 16KO) faces New York’s own Frankie Gonzalez (15-10, 11KO) in a scheduled eight-round bout. Both fighters came in at 150 lb.
