Shakhram Giyasov kept hold of his undefeated record in style.

The Uzbek is an Olympic silver medallist and moved to 5-0 in the paid ranks, adding a fourth stoppage.

Giyasov, an Olympic silver medallist from Rio in 2016, was in action over eight scheduled rounds at Wembley Stadium.

He kicked off the supporting cast of Anthony Joshua’s WBA Super, IBF, IBO and WBO world heavyweight title defence against Russia’s once-defeated former WBC Silver champion Alexander Povetkin, exclusively live Stateside on DAZN and in the UK on Sky Sports Box Office.

And after 38 seconds of the fourth round, the 25-year-old took out Julio Laguna of Nicaragua.

Laguna, in defeat, lost his unbeaten record, having previously held a ledger of 14-0 with 10 early finishes.

Brooklyn-based Giyasov, part of the same promotional outfit as Povetkin, will now be hoping to return to the ring sooner rather than later and continue his rise in the professional ranks following on from his glittering amateur career which included a gold medal in 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championship and a gold medal at last year’s Tashkent Asian Games in the welterweight division.
