Leeds - In a rematch of their February fight, featherweights Mauricio Lara (23-2-1, 16 KOs) and Josh Warrington (30-1-1, 7 KOs) fought to a two round technical draw due to a head clash. (photos by Mark Robinson)
In their first encounter, Lara dropped Warrington in the fourth, battered him down the stretch and pulled off a knockout win in the ninth.
Warrington was more guarded and taking his time with counters in the first. Lara was coming forward, feeling Warrington out, but also throwing. After a clash of heads in the second, a cut was suffered by Lara around the left eye. It made him come forward and swinging big punches at Warrington. Lara was doing good body work.
Before the start of the third, the fight was waved off by the ringside doctor - because of the bad cut on Lara's left eye from the head clash.
