WBA Super-Middleweight World Champion (Interim) Brian Magee believes he is in the shape of his life. The 36-year-old Belfast fighter held a media work-out at fitness.dk in Osterbro today. “I am in the best shape ever,” he said. “I have a lot of respect for Rudy Markussen but I believe I have more speed and skills than he has. I´ve seen a couple of his fights and I think he has good power but I have as much power. I am prepared for a tough fight and I will defend my title.”

Magee does not rate Markussen as the hardest-hitting fighter at super-middleweight. “I have fought against Carl Froch and I don’t think Markussen hits as hard as him but it´s always tough to compare,” he stated.

In the co-featured main event, Patrick Nielsen will take on Jozsef “Shatter-Machine” Matolcsi. “He calls himself the Shatter-Machine but it will be him who ends up shattered,” Nielsen said. “I look forward to fighting in front of my home fans and I will put on a great show.”

Tomorrow, Magee and Markussen meet face-to-face for the first time at the official press conference, which begins at noon at Broendby Hall. Tickets for the first Nordic Fight Night are available at www.billetnet.dk . The TV3+ broadcast starts at 20h.
