Cuban heavyweight Luis Ortiz is closing out his workouts very hard. Ortiz, along with his team of Herman Caicedo, Claudio Lamothe and Javier Jiménez are very confident of victory on Thursday, September 11th when he faces Lateef Kayode at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, in a twelve round bout for the WBA interim-world title.

Jay Jimenez, Ortiz's manager, said - "We will go to Las Vegas to show that Luis has the skills and power to fight the best. Boxing fans will witness that Ortiz is ready to fight for a world title. He will surprise everyone"

"We are almost at 90%. Ortiz is in excellent physical condition, and we respect Mr. Kayode and Mr. Roach, and know that they will be there to try to win this fight. I told you already, the best Ortiz will always defeat the best Kayode," Caicedo said.

"I'm leaving my life in this fight, Kayode is a very good fighter, it will be a very tough fight. But, Mr. Kayode does not really know the problem he will have on September 11th," Ortiz said
