Undefeated Cuban heavyweight Luis Ortiz 21-0 (18 KO’s) is training hard for his upcoming showdown with Lateef Kayode (20-0, 16KOs) for the vacant WBA interim-title on September 11th at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

"I'm training hard and my concentration and main goal is to reaching a higher level. Immediately after I beat Monte Barrett at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California in four rounds in April, I returned to the gym to maintain my physical condition," Ortiz said. "Boxing is a very tough job, but if you lose concentration defeat can come quickly and your career will become a problem. I had some difficulties in the past, but now everything is going well. I think the enthusiasm and the family are important to help us refocus our lives."
