His wife was where Amir Khan drew the line Tuesday.

Khan took Phil Lo Greco’s trash talk during a press conference until the Canadian mocked Khan’s very public spat with heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua over Khan’s wife. Once Lo Greco uttered the word “leftovers” in reference to Faryal Makhdoom, whom Khan publicly accused of sleeping with Joshua last year, Khan threw a glass of water at Lo Greco and went after him.

Promoter Eddie Hearn stepped in between the fighters and both boxers were restrained by others before any punches were thrown. England’s Khan (31-4, 19 KOs) will fight for the first time in nearly two years when he faces Lo Greco (28-3, 15 KOs) in a 10-round fight April 21 at Echo Arena in Liverpool, England (Sky Sports).

“After the Canelo loss, you went on a losing streak,” Lo Greco said to Khan during the press conference. “Family, wife. Then, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Guys, guys, this is not Pakistan versus India. It’s not a cricket match. Please! Please! And then you go out and you Tweet to the heavyweight champion of the world. What is wrong with you, mate? What is wrong? You go out and you Tweet to the heavyweight champion of the world that he can have your leftovers?”

That’s when Khan went after Lo Greco.

Once order was restored, Hearn admonished Lo Greco for getting “too personal” and the press conference continued. Khan and Lo Greco later went face-to-face for photos at the end of the event.

Khan came to the press conference annoyed with what Lo Greco had been writing about him on social media and saying about him since their fight was announced Monday.

Lo Greco called him a “Khandashian,” comparing Khan’s attention-seeking behavior to that of the American family infamous for various unflattering things. Khan’s opponent also has made fun of Khan getting knocked unconscious by Canelo Alvarez in his last fight, a sixth-round knockout in May 2016.

Since losing to Alvarez, Khan has been involved in numerous incidents that have created fodder for London’s tabloids. Before the 2004 Olympic silver medalist’s appearance late last year on the British reality show, “I’m A Celebrity,” Khan was involved in highly publicized disputes with his wife and family, faced backlash from an X-rated Skype scandal and went back and forth with Joshua, boxing’s biggest star in England, about whether Joshua slept with Makhdoom.

Khan and Makhdoom have since reconciled. Khan also apologized to Joshua.

Makhdoom has called the Joshua incident “a misunderstanding” over fake screen shots of Snapchat conversations between her and Joshua. She told numerous British media outlets that she has never met Joshua.
