After giving the regulatory weight, showing well-worked forms and posing for the cameras, opinions were still further divided around giving a possible favorite between Jose "Chon"Zepeda and Carlos "Chuko"Diaz.
Zepeda (28-1-0, 23 KO's) and Diaz (26-0-0, 13 KO's) will collide this Saturday at the State Auditorium in Mexicali, competing for the WBC Intercontinental lightweight championship, leading an attractive Zanfer card that will be transmitted in Mexico by Azteca 7.
This Friday, during the weigh-in ceremony, Zepeda surprised everyone with the ease that he made the weight - despite not having fought at lightweight in his last six fights since 2015. While Diaz looked on weight without considerable wear.
During the time they posed, they both went face to face, showing confidence and security with the promise of a lot of action and constant emotions.
"I can not fail myself or my people in Mexicali.. my talent, power and experience are on my side, no one will stop the goal of being a world champion. I will succeed and it will be a great fight with Diaz, who is a brave opponent," Zepeda said.
"I trained like never before and I came to Mexicali to win, it's my time, I will not give him any rest for a second in the entire fight," said Diaz said.
