Despite suffering back-to-back knockout losses, George Groves is just one fight away from returning to the title hunt. The super middleweight contender seeks his first win in nearly 16 months as he faces France's Christopher Rebrasse in their scheduled 12-round headliner Saturday evening at Wembley Arena in London, England. Both fighters did their part at Friday's weigh-in, each coming in under the 168 lb. divisional limit. Rebrasse tipped the scales at 167.5 lb., while Groves was a shade lighter at just under 167.4 lb.

The but is due to air live on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.

Groves (19-2, 15KOs) twice came up short in bouts with reigning unified super middleweight titlist Carl Froch, outfighting his countryman on both occasions before getting caught late.

Their first fight was battered in controversy, as Groves enjoyed a healthy lead heading into the 9th round of their title fight last November. A rally by Froch had the challenger in trouble, but a conclusive ending was denied after referee Howard John Foster caught an itchy trigger finger and prematurely ended the contest.

Groves was given his shot at redemption in May, in a rematch that drew 80,000 at Wembley Stadium (not to be confused with the smaller indoor arena hosting this Saturday's contest). Once again, the challenger jumped out to an early lead, but this time struggled to maintain his lead and was knocked out cold in the 8th round of their HBO-televised affair.

The efforts put forth in both championship bouts were enough to convince the World Boxing Council (WBC) to lend their support to Saturday's showdown with Rebrasse (22-2-3, 6KOs). The winner of the bout will be in line for a title shot at recently crowned beltholder Anthony Dirrell.

Rebrasse fights on the road for the fourth time in five starts after having spent the rest of his career in his native France. Three of his past four bouts have taken place in Italy, including a 4th round knockout in his rematch with Mouhamed Ali Ndiaye this past March.
