Whyte will have the opportunity to avenge his loss to Povetkin. Whyte (27-2, 18 KOs) was knocked out by Povetkin (36-2-1, 25 KOs) last August, at the Matchroom Fight Camp in Brentwood, Essex.
Brixton’s Whyte had fully controlled the fight, knocking his opponent down twice in the fourth round, but was caught off guard by a left uppercut at the 30 seconds exclamation mark, of the fifth round, which ended his hopes in an instant.
The fight, which is promoted by Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn, will be televised on SKY in the UK and on DAZN.
