The Theater, Madison Square Garden, New York - For the vacant WBC interim-featherweight title, Devin Haney (23-0, 15 KOs) dominated and stopped unbeaten Zaur Abdullaev (11-1, 7 KOs) in four rounds. (photos by Ed Mulholland).
Haney is now in line for full WBC champion Vasiliy Lomachenko, who last month captured the belt after a win over Luke Campbell.
The jab of Haney was controlling the action early on, forcing Abdullaev to cover up quite often to block them.
Abdullaev was pressing forward in the third, but he was getting tagged quite often by counters.
After taking a beating for four rounds, the corner of Abdullaev stopped the contest. It appeared that Abdullaev had a busted cheek bone, according to the boxer's corner.
