Ring legend and former undisputed world champion Roy Jones Jr. (54-7, 41 KOs) concluded his pre-fight routine with an open workout at Atrium place in Moscow, Russia. Assisting the great American were (among others) his long-time chief coach Alton Merkerson and former undisputed lightweight titlist Nate Campbell (33-8-1, 25 KOs), who is fighting on the same card against Uzbek Sherzod Nazarov (12-4, 10 KOs). Jones greeted his fans with some rap and a bit of showboating.

Roy’s opponent Denis Lebedev (21-1, 16 KOs) was also on hand, improving his skills under a guidance of another former superstar Kostya Tszyu. Unlike Jones, who was joking all around the place, Team Lebedev was uncharacteristically serious and determined. Supporting the Russian were about a thousand fans of boxing and journalists and some notables including former WBO super featherweight king Anatoly Alexandrov and Russian top heavyweight Alexander Povetkin.

Jones and Lebedev will collide with each other on Saturday as the headliner of the “Battle of two empires” at “Dynamo” arena in Moscow, Russia.
