Terence Crawford (24-0, 17KOs) stopped Yuriorkis Gamboa (23-1, 16KOs) in the ninth round in Omaha, Nebraska, on Saturday night to retain his WBO lightweight title. Crawford wobbled Gamboa with a left and knocked him down with another left earlier in the ninth, then connected with a right to the chin, prompting referee Gino Rodriguez to call the fight over 2 minutes 53 seconds into the round. It was the fourth time Gamboa went down in the contest. Photos by Chris Farina.
