Culiacan, Sinaloa - Amid great excitement, Juio Cesar Chavez Jr. (43-0-1, 30 KOs), the brand new middleweight champion of the World Boxing Council, held a press conference in a luxury hotel in his native Sinaloa, to announce the first defense of his title against Ronald Hearns (26-2, 20 KOs). The fight is scheduled for September 17 in Palenque de Culiacán, and the event is called "DYNASTIES." The fight will be broadcast by TV Azteca. Accompanied by his father, the legendary member of the hall of fame, Julio Cesar Chavez, he welcomed Ronald, son of the legendary fighter Tommy Hearns, to the country. Also present was the governor of Sinaloa, Mario López Valdez, the mayor of Culiacan, Hector Melesio, and promoter Fernando Beltran.
