Immediately after his appearance at today’s final press conference in Las Vegas ahead of his April 14th bout with Richard Abril, former lightweight champion Brandon Rios immediately made a run to the nearby Top Rank Gym to get in a workout.

Rios faces off with brash Cuban Richard Abril inside of the Mandalay Bay on Saturday night on HBO pay per view in a pivotal fight that could lead to a summer showdown with Mexico City’s Juan Manuel Marquez.

As opposed to his last contest, a December 3rd 11th round stoppage over Manchester’s John Murray in which he looked drawn as he lost his WBA lightweight title for failing to make the 135 pound limit, Rios appears to be very healthy and much stronger as he closes in on Friday’s 3 PM weigh-in.
