The Lamont Peterson-Kendall Holt world title bout may be the main course fight fans and media have been licking their chops over for weeks.

However, the preceding bout prior to Peterson-Holt may be a delightful appetizer that could be just as satisfying.

While the showdown between two of the more talented fighters in the 140-pound division has garnered plenty of attention, the scheduled eight round junior featherweight bout between unbeatens Roman Morales and Jesus Hernandez could steal the show as well.

The scheduled eight round bout between Morales and Hernandez will also air live on the ESPN2 “Friday Night Fights” telecast at 9PM ET/ 6 PM PT.

The card will take place at the DC Armory in Washington, D.C.

Morales (14-0, 7 KOs), who hails from San Ardo, CA, knocked out journeyman Jose Iniguez in the fifth round of a scheduled eight bout on January 25th.

Hernandez (10-0-3, 2 KOs) resides in the Los Angeles suburb of Huntington Park, but trains at the Robert Garcia Boxing Academy in Oxnard. Garcia will be in Hernandez’s corner on Friday night.

He is coming off a six round majority draw against Edwin Solis on September 21st.

Friday night will mark the first time in their professional careers that Morales and Hernandez will fight outside of California.

Gary Shaw Promotions will promote the card.
