Peter Fury has handed out the clearest indication yet that we are closer to hearing news about the return leg between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko.

The trainer –– and uncle –– of the world heavyweight champion took to social media to alert fans that they could know the particulars surrounding the rematch in the coming days.

Fury, the WBA Super, WBO and IBO and Ring magazine unified world heavyweight champion, unanimously outpointed former kingpin Klitschko, from Ukraine, last November in Germany.

Tyson, 27, took the decision on all three judges’ scorecards at Düsseldorf’s ESPRIT Arena by margins of 115-112, 116-111 and 115-112 and ended Klitschko’s 11-year undefeated streak.

After the fight, it was agreed that there would be an immediate rematch and a date for that contest, which meant that Fury was stripped of the IBF crown through failure to make a mandatory defence against Vyacheslav Glazkov, is still awaited.

But Peter Fury has made it clear that news is incoming on the next fight, which was all-but-confirmed after ‘Dr Steelhammer’ posted a video on Instagram outlining that he intended to go ahead with the contractually obliged second clash.

Fury, who also trains son Hughie Fury, tweeted: “[There is] [s]ome big news coming imminently on [the rematch between Tyson Fury] & [Wladimir Klitschko].

“[You will find out the] venue/date/country,” he continued.

“Expect announcements in [the] next 24/48 hours!”

Boxing Scene will reveal said details upon release.
