According to super middleweight Marco Antonio Periban (20-2-1, 13KOs), a deal is in place to face Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale (19-1, 13KOs) on November 22nd at the Echo Arena in Liverpool. DeGale is the mandatory challenger to Carl Froch's IBF championship.

Periban felt he was robbed in his last fight, believing that he knocked out J'Leon Love on the undercard of a Floyd Mayweather Jr. card in Las Vegas. He felt because Love is promoted by Mayweather, the referee was influenced to allow the boxer to continue and win what Periban felt was an unjust decision. He wants to do his best to avoid a fight with DeGale from reaching the judges.

"The change I have noticed [about myself is] more mental. I have to work from the first moment to impress the judges, and then even more because, as in this case, I'm [the visiting party]. It already happened to me with J'Leon Love, an opponent that I felt I had already knocked in the fifth round and they not only gave him the opportunity to continue they gave him the decision in his favor," Periban told ESPN Deportes.

"DeGale is strong and a difficult fighter. He is left handed, very durable and his only defeat was to George Groves and it was on points. So we have to work on beating him to the body to reduce the speed of his legs and hands and make use of my height, which have always been an advantage for me."
