The audience for the “PBC on FOX” tripleheader Saturday night peaked at 1,039,000 viewers.

According to ratings released Tuesday by Nielsen Media Research, the peak audience tuned in from 9:30-9:45 p.m. ET during the brief but action-packed main event between Omar Figueroa Jr. and Robert Guerrero.

Figueroa floored Guerrero five times, three times in the second round and twice in the third round, before referee Ron Lipton stopped the scheduled 10-round welterweight bout 1:30 into the third round.

The 34-year-old Guerrero (33-6-1, 18 KOs, 2 NC) lost by knockout for the first time in his 16-year pro career. The former four-division champion from Gilroy, California, announced his retirement Monday.

The 27-year-old Figueroa (27-0-1, 19 KOs) ended a 19-month layoff in fantastic fashion at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. The Weslaco, Texas, native expects to return to the 140-pound division to pursue a title shot.

The entire show Saturday night averaged 886,000 viewers.

It also included an impressive performance from Adam Kownacki (16-0, 13 KOs), who scored a fourth-round technical knockout of Artur Szpilka (20-3, 15 KOs) in a battle of Polish heavyweights. After the Kownacki-Szpilka opener, Staten Island’s Marcus Browne (20-0, 15 KOs) needed less than two rounds to stop previously unbeaten Sean Monaghan (28-1, 17 KOs), a fellow light heavyweight contender from Long Island.

The three quick knockouts and time of the year didn’t help in terms of generating ratings momentum Saturday night. Nevertheless, the tripleheader was watched by a lot less viewers than the last “PBC on FOX” tripleheader.

That card, which featured WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and Gerald Washington in the main event, peaked at 1.86 million viewers and drew an average of 1.76 million viewers February 25. Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) stopped Washington (18-1-1, 12 KOs) in the fifth round of their scheduled 12-rounder at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.
