Echo Arena, Liverpool - In a rematch, Paul Butler beat Stuart Hall by unanimous decision in a WBA bantamweight world title eliminator to set up a potential bout with champion Jamie McDonnell. The official scores were 118-110, 118-110, 117-110 in favor of Butler.

Butler raises his record to 25-1, 13 KOs - with his eight win since getting stopped by Zolani Tete in 2015. Hall goes down to 21-6-2 and 7 KOs. It was his second loss in his last three fights.

There was some close action at the start, before Butler pulled away with his jab and using side to side movement to connect with body shots as Hall continued to apply pressure and come forward. Butler was able to connect with the hard and more crisper punches to pile up the points.

The pair first met in June of 2014, when Butler defeated Hall to become the IBF world bantamweight champion.

Now Butler is in line for a crack at the WBA title held by McDonnell. That fight depends on the outcome of McDonnell's mandatory rematch with Liborio Solis - recently announced to be part of Matchroom's show in Monaco on November 4.

Also on the card, Ohara Davies (16-1, 13 KOs) returned from his first defeat in deadly form, as he demolished previously undefeated destroyed Tom Farrell (13-1, 3 KOs) to capture the vacant WBA International super lightweight title.

This was Davies first bout since suffering his first career defeat, a knockout loss to Josh Taylor in July.

Farrell was dropped numerous times in the contest, but showed a lot of heart in a contest where he was clearly outgunned and outclassed.

At the end of the first round, Farrell was dropped hard on his back but appeared to recover between rounds. It didn't take long before he was dropped again in the second round. He was dropped again for a third time, but managed to fight his way out of trouble and survived.

Then in the sixth round round, Davies dropped Farrell down hard once again and it appeared the contest was over, but it was allowed to go on and then the home fighter was battered for the stoppage.
