Paddy Barnes has had his next foe confirmed.

The Belfast flyweight will vie for his first title when he returns to the ring.

Barnes (2-0) is a three-time Olympian and, despite only having two paid outings to date and having only made the decision to turn over last November, is already determined to push on to bigger and better things.

‘The Leprechaun’, 30, will take on Spanish-based Romanian Silvio Olteanu (16-11, 7 KOs), a former opponent of ex-IBF bantamweight king Paul Butler, exclusively live on BoxNation.

Their showdown, which is set for 10 rounds with the vacant WBO European title at stake, tops Frank Warren’s ‘Battle of Belfast’ card on June 17 at the city’s Waterfront Hall.

Jamie Conlan, who rose from the canvas in his last fight against Yader Cardoza to win the vacant WBC International Silver title at super-flyweight, is set for a low-key affair ahead of a potential world title eliminator showdown.

The card is also blessed with a cracking all-action lightweight clash between Craig Evans and Stephen Ormond as the Welshman defends his WBO European lightweight belt against the Dubliner.

Jono Carroll faces his MTK Global stablemate Johnny Quigley for the vacant IBF European super-featherweight title, David Oliver Joyce makes his professional debut and there will be action for undefeated prospect Lewis Crocker and Manchester-based Ulsterman Steven Ward who will fight for the first time over six rounds.

And Boxing Scene understands that Alex Dickinson will also feature on the bill as he makes his debut, with further names to be added in due course.
