Two cult favorites on the Boxeo Telemundo circuit, Edgar Ortega and Pablop Munguia square off in a scheduled 10-round welterweight bout Friday evening at Jose Cuervo Salon in Mexico City, Mexico.

Both fighters came in right at the 147 lb. divisional limit.

Ortega (15-1, 10KOs) comes in on the heels of the biggest win of his career, a 10-round decision over previously unbeaten Daniel Rosario in August. Friday’s bout marks his fourth ring appearance of 2014, with all three wins on the year going the distance and resulting in either split or majority decisions.

Overall, Ortega has won 10 straight bouts.

Munguia (19-5, 11KOs) ventured outside of Mexico for the first time in his career in his last fight. The 35-year old southpaw was competitive in a 10-round points loss to Antonin Decarie on the road in Canada, the result snapping a three-fight win streak.

The bout headlines a seven-fight card in Mexico City, with the main event airing live (Friday, Telemundo 11:35 p.m. ET).
