Cuban heavyweight Odlanier Solis (21-3) knocked out Serbian Milos Doveden (2-26) 1.53 into the second round of a scheduled six rounder in the headliner of EC Boxing´s gymshow in Hamburg last night (August 4). It was Doveden´s twenty-third loss inside the distance and his fourth straight.

What is next for Solis and who is behind this comeback is not known. This was his first fight since losing to Tony Thompson in February of 2015.

Cruiserweight Nikola Milalic (13-1) took out Igor Nistor (0-2) at 2.45 of the first round.

Mario Daser  (11-0), also at cruiser, outscored Aleksandar Todorovic (7-9-1) over six. It was scored 59-54.

 Finally, super middle Tuncay Ucar won his pro debut on a first round knockout over Senad Alicic (0-2).

Jose Becerra is now resting in his home in Guadalajara. The physicians decided this is the best option as he is in a coma.

The former world champion has been treated, due to a long sickness with several complications, at the IMSS Hospital in Guadalajara, all thanks to the Foundation Telmex Telcel grant he receives.

Becerra Covarrubias, was born on April 4, 1936 in Guadalajara. He conquered the bantamweight world crown defeating French-Algerian, Alphonse Halimi, who became champion by defeating Raul "Ratón" Macias, from Mexico.

The match Becerra Vs. Halimi took place at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California; the card was presented by George Parnassus. Jose defended the title two times; the first one in a rematch bout with Halimi.

The second defense of the belt was staged in Tokyo, Japan, at the Korakuen Stadium, with Becerra defeating Kenji Yonekura by split decision; the Referee of the bout was Don Ramon Berumen, from the Mexico City Boxing Commission.

Jose Becerra retired from the ring in 1960. Two years later, he offered a six-round exhibition match, concluding once for all his boxing career. He was trained by Jorge Trigo, and then by Pancho Rosales.

He had an outstanding career, he was a skilled powerful pugilist. He shaped a brilliant record of 68 wins with 42 KO´s, 4 defeats and 3 draws.
