The purse offer for the highly anticipated British Middleweight title showdown between champion Billy Joe Saunders and John Ryder was won by Andy Ayling on behalf of Queensberry Promotions at the British Boxing Board of Control’s Cardiff headquarters earlier today.

The fight was put back out to purse bids after a premature announcement by the Board had previously awarded the fight to Promoter Eddie Hearn, until it was discovered that he had failed to fill in a simple form ‘correctly and in the appropriate places’ as per the strict rules of a purse offer.

Ayling has two weeks to submit a date and a venue to the Board for when the two unbeaten fighters will meet for Saunders’ British Championship.

In an unfortunate turn of events former European champion Ermano “ll’Dottore” Fegatilli (27-5-0 5 KO’s) must walk away from his scheduled June 22nd stay-busy-fight in Gramont, Belgium due to an excruciating tooth infection.

The infection occurred during a dental implant to fix a broken tooth. The implant will be removed in the coming weeks and later replaced after his August 23rd eight-round fight in Ostende and October 11th WBC elimination fight at Gents Boksgala 12 at the Topsporthal Vlaanderen in Gent, Belgium.

The fight in Ostende is merely for the sake of “dusting his skillset” and keeping prepared and active for his October elimination fight – likely against Justin Savi to commence with the WBC’s Super Featherweight elimination tournament.

Fegatilli understands the seriousness of being at the top of his game for every fight. A precise marksman in the ring he brings perfect alignment at every angle. He always looks to show his thick arsenal. In August, October, he promises to drive in just that.

Don’t miss Ermano on “Bunces Boxing Hour” next Monday at the usual time of 7 PM BST/8 PM CET. More news will be released soon.

Chris Keane will challenge Neil Dawson for the WBO International Cruiserweight Title at Walsall Town Hall on Friday, 31st May.

The Walsall boxer takes on the current holder of the belt on the undercard of Martin Gethin’s big IBF Final Eliminator against Ammeth Diaz in his hometown,  live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546).

Dawson (11-2) won the belt by defeating Tony Conquest back in December thanks to a stunning first round KO. However, Keane, the current Midlands Area Cruiserweight King, is confident of recording an 11th straight pro career victory.

“It’s a good opportunity for me,” Keane told www.uko-boxing.com . “It’s important that I now know who I’m fighting so I can start preparing specifically for Dawson.

My trainers, Paul Hudson and Dean Edwards, have studied his style and we’re working on our game plan. I’m looking forward to it.”

Keane saw Dawson in action last weekend as the Rotherham-born boxer took part in Sky Sports’ “Prizefighter: The Cruiserweights III”. Dawson suffered a quarter-final defeat at the hands of Danny McIntosh and 27 year-old Keane believes he has what it takes to beat his opponent, who, despite only having three more pro fights, is five years his senior.

“I’m confident but you have to be in this game,” he added. “Dawson is a decent kid. He’s tough and durable with loads of heart.

“I think he will fight pretty similar to Shane McPhilbin (who Keane beat back in January) and will come at me early on.

“I’m feeling good though and will be ready for him.”

As well as Gethin and Keane, the undercard on “Ready To Silence The World” features seven other intriguing battles.

Unbeaten Boston light-heavyweight prospect Callum Johnson takes on veteran John Anthony, former Commonwealth Welterweight title challenger Ronnie Heffron steps in with Kieron Gray whilst debutants Wolverhampton super-featherweight Dezzie Bowater, West Bromwich welterweight Tom Stokes and Swadlincote super middleweight Craig Willshee take on Michael Stupart, Bheki Moyo and John Mason respectively. Welsh super-featherweight, Craig Evans, is also in action.

Completing the bill, sees undefeated Stafford super-middleweight prospect Grant Cunningham steps in with Kirill Psonko.

Tickets, priced at £40 and £75 Ringside, are available from Walsall Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900. Doors will open at 6pm and boxing will commence at 6.30pm.

Gethin v Diaz will be televised live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546).  Join at www.boxnation.com .
