Things are coming together for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Robert Guerrero Showtime Pay-Per-View, scheduled for May 4th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The co-feature was finalized two weeks ago, with Abner Mares (25-0-1, 13KOs) moving up to the featherweight division to face Daniel Ponce De Leon (44-4, 35KOs) for the WBC championship.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has advised BoxingScene.com that J'Leon Love (15-0, 8KOs) vs. Gabe Rosado (21-6, 13KOs) has been finalized for the show.

Former IBF bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz (23-0-1, 13KOs) was going to face Rafael Marquez, who got injured. He will now likely make his super bantamweight debut against veteran Alexander Munoz (36-4, 28KOs) of Venezuela.

"I've been told that the J'Leon Love and Gabe Rosado fight has been finalized and Leo Santa Cruz will fight Alexander Munoz, that's what it looks like but I have to doublecheck with our matchmakers that everything is done," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com.

THURMAN BACK IN THE SUMMER

Welterweight contender Keith Thurman (20-0, 18KOs) will make his Showtime televised debut on a date in June or July, says Schaefer. Thurman was last seen on March 9th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, winning a twelve round decision over former champion Jan Zaveck.

BRONER-MALIGNAGGI LIKELY TO GET FINALIZED

The proposed welterweight match between WBA champion Paulie Malignaggi (32-4, 7KOs), and undefeated Adrien Broner (26-0, 22KOs), is getting very close to a finalized deal for June 22nd at the Barclays Center. Broner, who moves up by two weight divisions from 135, will be making his Showtime televised debut.

"It's almost done, but again I want to make sure everything is done and then we'll announce it - but I'm very confident that it will happen on June 22nd from the Barclays Center," Schaefer said.
