Veteran trainer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain, who led Mexico's Jhonny Gonzalez (51-7, 45KOs) to new heights, says his pupil's success is based on effort, dedication, discipline and the desire to continue learning boxing. On the 28th of April at the Grand Oasis Resort in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico - Gonzalez will defend the title against mandatory challenger Elio Rojas (23-1, 14KOs).

Gonzalez is training very hard at the Romanza Gym in Mexico. Nacho expects Rojas to be aggressive, but then feels the Dominican boxer will run in the face of Gonzalez's power.

"We have a plan for the Dominican's style, but I can't tell you what it is. I just know that once Elio feels Jhonny's bombs, he will grow wings and become a hare - and he will try to run to Miami, but we will cover the exits and that's what Johnny will do to retain the championship," Gonzalez said.
