Amir Khan has rejected suggestions Carlos Molina is a rank underdog ahead of their light-welterweight clash in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The Briton takes on undefeated local lad Molina desperate to put on a performance after defeats in his last two fights.

His American counterpart is a huge underdog for the fight and only has seven stoppages among his 17 wins. But Khan is wary of underestimating him, especially after his old friend Pacquiao was rendered unconscious by Juan Manuel Marquez last Saturday.

That sixth-round knockout not only proved that nothing can be taken for granted in the ring, it also vindicated Khan's insistence that anyone can be caught with a devastating punch following his stoppage by Danny Garcia in July.

Molina (17-0-1, 7KOs) is revelling in his role as the outsider.

"We know Amir doesn't like pressure fighters and whatever way we can make him uncomfortable, that's what we'll do," Molina told Press Association Sport. "So expect an all-out war. We're going to fight in my city, in LA, in the 'hood. So I'm going to make this a street fight. He can't come to my 'hood and beat me."

"I know a lot of people see me as the underdog, but man, little do they know that we're going to shock everybody," he said. "We're going to be called the Seabiscuit after this fight. We're going to come out of nowhere and shock the world."
