The undefeated minimumweight champion of the World Boxing Association, Japanese fighter Ryo Miyazaki (20-0, 11KOs) has announced his decision to vacate the title and move up in weight to the junior flyweight division. Miyazaki formalized his resignation last week, when he informed the WBA's Championships Committee. He also put in a request to get a high rating in the junior flyweight division when the next set of rankings are released. The WBA champion at junior flyweight is dangerous Nicaraguan Roman Gonzalez.
