According to Danish paper Ekstrabladet, in a few days it will be made public that former WBA and WBC super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler´s comeback will go ahead on November 11 at the Messecenter in Herning. The opponent could be Colombian contender Roamer Alexis Angulo (22-0).

The 38-year old Kessler had his last fight in 2013, when lost a decision in a rematch with Carl Froch, and then officially retired in 2015 and has been training for a comeback since the spring and is reportedly looking very good in sparring. He spent a week in Sweden recently sparring with World Boxing Super Series participant Erik Skoglund.

Herning has been the home to many of Kessler´s best performances and it was here that he beat Carl Froch in their first bout back in 2010. Kessler also took out Gusmyr Perdomo and Brian Magee in this venue.

Mogens Palle and Brian Nielsen will stage the first Danish Fight Night of the new season on October 7 at the Frederiksberghall in Copenhagen. Topping the bill is eternally young super middleweight veteran Lolenga Mock, 9-0, since returning to action in December of 2015.

Mock is # 1 of the Danish fighters at boxrec but is only # 34 with the WBC and # 12 with the EBU.

Also on the bill are light heavyweight Jonas Madsen (10-0), heavyweight Pierre Madsen (9-0), cruiserweight Detlev Rossing (6-0) and super lightweight Enock Poulsen (5-0).

The next Danish Fight Night set for November 11 will be a special one as it then was 60 years ago Hall of Fame promoter Mogens Palle began his career. In November of 1957 future EBU middleweight champoion Chris Christensen headlined a show at the KB Hall in Copenhagen.
