In the near future, WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto will have to decide between two options for a potential opponent on December 3 in Las Vegas. Cotto will either have a grudge rematch with Antonio Margarito or move up to middleweight to challenge Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. for a fourth world title. Cotto was ringside last Saturday at Staples Center in Los Angeles, and watched Chavez defeat Sebastian Zbik to win the title. He wasn't impressed.

"We are waiting for the call from [Top Rank] to see what the offers are. We'll see what kind of money is there and then decide. Chavez Jr., fought well, but I saw nothing that impressed me or caught my attention. It would be a great attraction [to face Chavez for a fourth title], but first we have to see the options on the table and we, as a team, wwill make a decision," Cotto told Les Jiminez.
