Mexico's Javier Mendoza is already in Tokyo, where he is finalizing his training camp ahead of the scheduled defense of flyweight title of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) against former WBC world champion Akira Yaegashi (22-5, 12KOs).

The fight is taking place on the 29th of this week at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo. Acclimation to the local time and staying on weight are the two factors that Mendoza is paying attention to at the moment. He wants to leave 2015 with his left arm raised in three big fights.

Mendoza faced Mauricio Fuentes in January with a big knockout win in two rounds. He then defending the IBF title against Filipino Milan Melindo in May, and won a six round technical decision after the fight was stopped early due to a bad clash of heads. The win raised his professional record to 24-2-1, with 19 before the deadline.

Mendoza, who is represented by Erik "Terrible" Morales, held most of his camp in the Otomi Ceremonial Center Temoaya in Mexico, where he did sparring with Hanzel Martinez and Vicente Portillo.

This will be the second title defense for Mendoza after capturing the title in September 2014 with his twelve round unanmous decision win over veteran Ramon Garcia Hirales.
