After the end of the 11th round of his fight with James DeGale, Rogelio “Porky” Medina spit at the super middleweight titleholder.

It was a moment caught on camera and a moment that Medina did not deny. He had an excuse to rationalize why he did it, however.

“I actually got frustrated during the fight. I made a bad reaction,” Medina said afterward. “I did actually spit at him, but it’s because throughout the fight he kept head-butting me, hitting me with elbows and they never told him anything. And I generally just got frustrated because said he was going to fight and stop me during the fight, but he never actually stood to trade punches. He was just moving around, and it just got me a little frustrated with his antics.”

It’s classless, but it could’ve been worse. The most infamous response to another fighter using his head? Mike Tyson gnawing on Evander Holyfield’s ears.
