WBC super featherweight champion Takashi Miura (27-2-1, 20KOs) could defend his title against three division king Abner Mares, potentially on May 3rd as part of the Floyd Mayweather-Marcos Maidana undercard. The card is likely going to take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

According to Japanese Promoter Akahiko Honda of Teiken Boxing Gym, Miura is willing to accept the fight, which Mares' promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, has explored in making. Honda said that negotiations are taking place and there'll probably be an announcement next week.

Takashi Miura has faced four Mexican fighters and he has defeated them all.
