Kevin Satchell’s next fight has been pencilled in for March 5, 2016 in France.

The 27-year-old Brit (14-0, 3 KOs) will fight for the European flyweight title against champion Thomas Masson in Lille on a EuroProm promotion.

Satchell hasn’t fought since March 6, 2015 when taking care of Walter Rojas in one round.

The Liverpudlian, a former British and Commonwealth flyweight champion, won the European crown in October 2014 when gaining a majority decision verdict over Valery Yanchy.

However, 2015 has been something of an annus horribilis for the MGM managed fighter, having only fought once this year, suffered a knee injury and had himself stripped of his British, Commonwealth and European belts.

Satchell vs. Masson had been scheduled for July 18 in France, then London six days later and then found itself with a new date of September 12 back on French territory. The bout never materialised.

Masson won the vacant European title that night (September 12) when he outpointed Silvio Olteanu. Olteanu restores his British connection this Saturday night in Manchester when he faces former IBF Bantamweight champion over 12 rounds for the vacant WBO European super flyweight title on the Andy Lee vs. Billy Joe Saunders undercard.
