Welterweight Marlon Aguas (8-0, 5KOs) of Ecuador traveled to Polanco, Mexico to win a twelve round split decision over Jonathan Duran (13-8, 6KOs) at the Jose Cuervo Salon to capture the vacant WBC Caribbean Boxing Federation (CABOFE) title. It was the third fight of the year for Aguas and the second consecutive fight in Mexico for the visiting fighter. There were two scores of 113-116 in favor of Aguas, with the third judge scoring 114-116 for Duran, who loses his third decision in a row.
