Earlier today, former WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margarito finished up the strong stage of his preparation for his upcoming return fight against Jorge Paez Jr.

The fight is scheduled for Saturday March 5 at the Arena Mexico City. The card "Thunder against Lightning" will be promoted by Zanfer Promotions and broadcast on Azteca 7, La Casa del Boxing.

"The Tijuana Tornado" closed his camp in San Diego, California, which he chose as his training camp headquarters. "Maromerito" Paez preferred to hold his camp in Jiquipilco in the mountains in Mexico.

After a four-year retirement, Margarito returns in a stellar fight against the son of legendary Jorge Paez Sr.

Margarito medical tests in the United States to rule out any risk to his right eye, which he injured in 2010 when he fought Manny Pacquiao. Although the Boxing Commission of Mexico City demanded other tests in order to approve his return - everything went smoothly.

"I have prepared very well, I am very motivated and I'm returning to boxing because I know that I can still compete at the highest level. I've not come back to lose," said Margarito (38-8, 27 KO's), who is confident of turning back Paez Jr. (39-7-2, 23 KO's).

"It was tough to start boxing after four years, but I'm fine, clam, happy, and things have gone well with my new coach (John Estrada). I will do well and we will walk away with our hands raised."

Margarito headlined in memorable bouts against fighters like of Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Roberto Garcia, Kermit Cintron and Joshua Clottey, Paul Williams among others.

After losing to Miguel Cotto in December 2011 before a sellout crowd of 17,943 fans at Madison Square Garden, Margarito retired from boxing. The fight was a rematch of a bout which took place three years earlier, where the Mexican won by knockout in nine rounds.
