Marco Huck met the German press in his hometown Berlin at the famous Restaurant Borchardt ahead of his Ali Trophy quarter-final with Ukranian Aleksandr Usyk September 9 at the Max-Schmeling-Halle, Berlin.
Huck: "It is going to be very nice to fight in Berlin, but I would also fight Usyk on the moon,” said the German cruiserweight. “Usyk is a well-schooled boxer and I cannot wait to step into the ring with him.”
Huck’s trainer, Conny Mittermeier: "Marco is now already in very good shape, almost at his fight weight and he is motivated. I believe in a premature victory for Marco.”
Huck also promises a dramatic fight: "When I fight, there's always something going on, it's never boring, but spectacular. Huck fans around the world know that a Huck fight means entertainment. When I reach my potential on fight night I can beat everyone! I am very optimistic and confident that I will beat Usyk.”
German Leon Bunn (5-0, 5 KOs) vs. Tomasz Gargula (18-7-1, 5 KOs) from Poland and German Patrick Wojcicki (9-0, 4 KOs) vs. French Fouad El Massoudi (14-9, 1 KOs) are confirmed on the undercard of the World Boxing Super Series quarter-final clash between Aleksandr Usyk and Marco Huck.
