The always well informed BILD in Germany writes that heavyweights Manuel Charr (28-4) and Odlanier Solis (22-3, 14 KOs) clash for the WBA interim title March 11 in Bonn in what must be described as a very surprising matchup for a world heavyweight title - surprising and undeserved especially in regards of Solis who is not even rated by the WBA.

Both men have had their fair share of ups and downs in their respective careers. Charr was shot in the fall of 2015 just after having lost by knockout to current cruiserweight contender Mairis Briedis.

Charr returned in 2016 and scored two wins in 2016 - none over contenders though.

Solis looked like the future superstar of the heavyweight boxing when he turned pro in 2007, but it looked all over in 2015 when he retired against Tony Thompson after a very poor performance. However, he came back in 2016 with two wins, looked far from sharp but here he is.

The winner of this fight will however be able to cash in on at least one big payday.

IN OTHER NEWS: SES and Z! Promotions revealed the plans for their big event March 18 at the Arena in Leipzig alhough some of the news have been known for some time. Either way, topping the bill is EBU light heavyweight champ Robert Stieglitz, who takes on Nikola Sjekloca.

Second main event is a very interesting clash between heavyweights Erkan Teper and Mariusz Wach. Teper is now trained by former IBF cruiser king Yoan Pablo Hernandez. When he lost to Christian Hammer Teper had Torsten Schmitz as chief cornerman and when he knocked out David Price Oktay Urkal was heacoach.

WBA Contínental and WBO I/C light heavy ruler Dominic Boesel defends the titles against Sami Enbom from Finland and super welters Phillip Nsingit and Karim Gashi clash in a national title fight.
