The heavyweight collision between Manuel Charr and Odlanier Solis, that was set for March 11 in Bonn (Germany) and initially announced for the WBA interim-title - is now off.

Charr is sidelined with an injured shoulder, and because of that he is physically unable to go forward with the fight.

Last week, the World Boxing Association denied having sanctioned Charr vs. Solis for the interim title - but according to Diamond Boy Promotions there some kind of a deal in place. Charr´s injury thus kills a show that would have also featured the likes of former WBA cruiserweight champion Firat Arslan.

Both Solis and Charr have had their fair share of ups and downs in their respective careers. Charr was shot just after having lost by knockout to current top cruiserweight contender Mairis Briedis.

Charr (28-4) returned in 2016 and scored two wins during the year - none over contenders though.

Solis (22-3, 14 KOs), who captured Olympic gold, looked like the future superstar of the heavyweight boxing when he turned pro in 2007, but it looked all over in 2015 when he retired against Tony Thompson after a very poor performance.

However, Solis came back in 2016 with two wins, but looked far from sharp.

IN OTHER NEWS: EBU bantamweight champ Karim Guerfi (25-3) will now defend the title against Belgian challenger Stephane Jamoye (31-7) on March 26 in Lille (France). The fight have been on and off for some time now - and it might in fact be off again as Guerfi could be heading for a shot at world title in the United States.
