Reliant Arena, Houston, Texas - Peter Manfredo Jr. officially retired from the ring after his knockout loss to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on Saturday night. Manfredo seemed to finally catch his rhythm before getting caught and stopped by Chavez.  Manfredo felt the stoppage was early and didn't offer praise for Chavez.

"He caught me with a couple shots early on and I brushed them off. Then he caught me good and they stopped it," stated Manfredo. "They don't let you fight anymore. Its not like the old days. I was surprised they stopped it. He surprised me with his power. He is stronger than I thought."

Manfredo reiterated that this was his final fight. He said that he didn't want to stick around if he couldn't compete with elite fighters and that he would rather spend more time with his family.

"I don't want to fight anymore. I'm done. If I can't fight at a world class level then I don't want to fight anymore. I have a beautiful wife and beautiful children who I want to spend time with. I don't want to do this anymore," said Manfredo.
