Super featherweight Luis "El Artesano" Cruz said his upcoming fight with the former junior lightweight champion of the WBO, Roman "Rocky" Martinez, will not go the distance due to the aggressive style of his opponent. The fight is going to happen on April 16 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and televised by Showtime as the co-feature to Juan Manuel Lopez-Orlando Salido.

"I'm sacrificing a lot and I'm very happy with my weight and fitness. My conditioning will not be a problem for me. We have the ability to defeat Rocky. This is a great opportunity to then fight for the title with Ricky Burns. It is a good time to take it and everybody see the knockout of Roman Martinez. His fighting style will allow me to land my best shots and the fight will not reach twelve rounds," Cruz said.

Cruz has an unbeaten record of 17-0 and 14 knockouts. He did not expect to be in position for a title shot so soon, as he only became a pro four years ago.

"I knew I was going to get it soon, but I didn't know that it would be of this magnitude in an elimination bout as the co-feature to Juanma López. We have the exposure of a Showtime fight and we know that Roman is tough. Being a featuring fight is perfect to display a great showcase. We are here to stay in the division," he said.
