Al Bonani, the trainer for IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud (23-0, 19KOs), advised BoxingScene.com that he was contacted by Don Majeski, the matchmaker for IBF super middleweight king Lucian Bute (29-0, 24KOs), to see if his boxer was interested in a potential fall fight.

Bute was scheduled to fight Kelly Pavlik in November. That fight fell apart when Pavlik rejected a guarantee of $1.35 million dollars.

"We received a call to see if we were interested in fighting Bute. We heard from Don Majeski, who is Bute's matchmaker and I said 'sure, let's do it.' We're the IBF champ at 175 and he's the IBF champ at 168, so maybe we could do it at a catch-weight of 173," Bonani told BoxingScene.com.
