More than a month after the announcement of his drug test failure, Lucian Bute is still seeking answers about the events that took place after his fight on April 30 against WBC super middleweight champion Badou Jack.

The Quebec Romanian-born boxer (32-3-1, 25 KOs) does not know when the analysis of his B-sample of urine will be performed by the laboratory that work with the Athletic Commission of Washington (District of Columbia).

"We have no further details at this time, said Bute's lawyer, Howard L. Jacobs, to the Montreal Journal. "I can say that it takes longer than usual to get a date for the second analysis."

The long wait does not worry the manager of Bute, Chris Ganescu.

"For sure we would like it to get sorted out as quickly as possible, but sometimes it may take longer," Gansecu said. "This is the same in other cases of doping. It is true that the period between the two analyzes may seem long, but we are not the ones who make the decisions."

Despite the storm that has befallen him since May 26 when the positive test was revealed, Bute has not cut ties with members of his team. He is in constant contact with strength and conditioning coach Angel Heredia.

"Lucian and Angel talk regularly," confirmed Ganescu. "Angel has been cooperating fully from the beginning and he wants the same conclusion as us. We will re-evaluate everything before the next camp for Lucian. The situation has not yet been discussed."

Whatever the result of the B sample, Lucian Bute has no plans to put his career on the shelf. And there is nothing that could make him change his mind.

"Even if it was suspended by the sports commission, he absolutely wants to continue later on because he does not feel guilty of anything," Ganescu said. "After his penalty, he would put this story behind him before looking ahead. "
