The West Australian reports that Richard Towers was denied a visa to enter Australia, which has forced the cancelation of his scheduled fight with Lucas Browne, a Commonwealth title eliminator on July 25th the Melbourne Pavilion in Flemington, Victoria, Australia. The Department of Immigration rejected Towers' application overnight because of his past criminal record.

Towers served six-and-a-half years of a 13-year prison sentence for conspiracy following the kidnapping and torture of a man. Now Browne's camp is scrambling to get a replacement.

"I'm p****d off hard that it's happened again, that I knew it was (going to happen again), that everyone should've known, and that I've been training hard for this fight and I'm now fighting someone else," Browne told thewest.com.au.
