WBO world super welterweight champion Liam Smith believes after he retains his world title on September 17th at AT&T Stadium in Texas, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez will come calling for an immediate rematch.

Speaking on a pre-fight media call to promote the big show in Arlington, Beefy was in a confident mood as the countdown to fight night edges nearer.

When asked if a possible unification bout could be of interest next, the defending champion stated that a rematch would likely be next for both men: "My mind is set on Canelo. When I beat Canelo, my next fight will be Canelo again! They will want the rematch."

With camp coming to a close, the Merseyside maverick is backing the hard work to pay dividends when that opening bell sounds.

"We've got a few more hard sessions left. Me and Joe Gallagher have had a good camp. I know I can perform at this level."

Fans should expect an explosive contest with Smith hoping he can win some new fans on his American debut.

"I've always been told I've got a style the American fans will like. What you see is what you get, I'm coming to fight!"

Beefy has openly expressed his desire to lock horns with the flame haired Mexican on more than one occasion. Now with the clock ticking down, the excitement has started to kick in.

"I always wanted a style like his. This can only be a great fight, the styles will gel well. I'm going to enjoy it. This fight is right up my street. Every time I think about the fight, it gets me excited!"
