Former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis supports David Haye's plea for a fight with WBC champion Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41KOs).

Lewis ended his career in 2003 with a memorable sixth round TKO over Vitali.

Haye (26-2, 24KOs) lost a twelve round decision to younger brother Wladimir last July in Hamburg. He returned on July 14 in London to stop British rival Dereck Chisora in five rounds. Chisora went the distance with Vitali in February.

"Today, the Klitschko brothers dominate because they have no worthy opponents. Chisora slapped Vitali. How can you do that to the champion? If I was there, I would have hit him, but Vitali is too honorable for that. It would be good to see a fight between Haye and Klitschko. I do not [put my stock] in the ratings. Haye should be a contender to Klitschko, because he knocked Chisora out," Lewis said.
