A few days ago, BoxingScene.com reported that heavyweight contender Odlanier Solis (18-1, 12 KOs) decided to take a pass on facing Norway’s Leif Larsen (16-0, 13 KOs) in a 10-round fight on October 12 in Madrid - and instead the 2004 Olympic gold medal winner will head straight to a planned fight with former two-division world champion Tomasz Adamek (47-2, 29 KOs) on December 22.

Multiple sources are now reporting that Jason Gavern (21-11-4, 10KOs) has agreed to come in as a late replacement for Solis. Gavern was last seen in the ring on September 8th, losing a ten round decision to former cruiserweight champ Steve Cunningham, who was making his heavyweight debut.
